The Samal Group laid its foundation in 1924 in Mumbai under the dynamic leadership of Late Shankarrao. Y. Samal. In partnership with M/s M.R. Jilkar & Company, Samal Group completed various large scale projects in Mumbai which included construction activities for The Bombay High Court buildings, Sardar Vallabhai Patel Stadium Mumbai, The palace of the King of Gwalior, The Cotton Mills of Mumbai, to name a few of the many renowned projects successfully completed. Then followed a phase of his business in and around Pune in 1953.
Later, 1960 proved to be a year of importance when his son Shrikant. S. Samal, B.E. (Civil), M.I.E joined him in the business. With his knowledge, untiring efforts, proficiency, foresight and accuracy in planning, the whole group took a big leap forward. S.Y. Samal & Company was established in 1963 in Pune and with more than 60 years of experience, it has grown to be one of the most sound and well established construction companies in Maharashtra.
Mr. Dipak. S. Samal, B.E (Civil) M.I.E, M.B.A, joined the business in the year 1987 and Mr. Nayan. S. Samal (D.C.E) joined in the year 1992. Being the Directors of the company today, Mr. Dipak. S. Samal and Mr. Nayan. S. Samal are putting in their best efforts under the able guidance of their father Mr. Shrikant. S. Samal and are responsible for the growth and success of the company.
The fourth generation of the Samal Group, Mr. Praneet. D. Samal , B.Eng Civil (Hons) - Coventry University, UK, joined in the year 2019. With a set of new ideas and modern concepts, the organisation is all set to continue the legacy by building new milestones and to grow even more in the coming future.
Over the years, the company, through its proven capabilities, has acclaimed high position in the construction work of Industrial, Commercial, Corporate, Institutional, Hospital and Residential Projects. During the last 60 years, the Group has successfully completed 200+ major projects and the construction work of about 1,00,00,000 Sq.ft. (Ten million Sq.ft.) has been done.
